Vinyl is a vapour barrier. On a wall that holds moisture, or in a building where air-conditioning cycles on and off, moisture can be trapped behind a solid vinyl and cause mould. Micro-venting perforates the face with tiny holes that are invisible once installed, letting the wall breathe. Ask for micro-vented stock for coastal, basement and intermittently air-conditioned spaces.
